“The design of social space, physical space and emotional space affects how people engage with ideas, content and each other.”

Wendy Woon

THE devil is in the data. Data comprises the detail we must decode in order to form ever better decisions – on everything from commerce and education to healthcare and society. But the tools we use currently to capture that data – spreadsheets and dashboards – only offer so much spurious comfort. Because even if they are live and dynamic, they are one- or at most two-dimensional. Data is given to us in overwhelming supply, but we cannot leverage its hidden patterns because we’re restricted in our field of view and limited in our awareness. Captain Nemo’s Nautilus had a motto printed on its side – Mobilis in Mobili – moving in the mobile element, and it encapsulates exactly what we must now also achieve: a three-dimensional, immersive engagement with the whole of data.

“It’s not just time that is money, it’s space too.”
